Meet Dr. Tawakkol

Dr. Tawakkol's training began at the university of Michigan with a degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He earned his medical doctorate in 1989 from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Tawakkol completed his internship and orthopedic residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then pursued an Arthritis and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at the University of Southern California, and Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Tawakkol researched hip and knee reconstructive surgery and treatment of bone loss using the principle of bone transport.

Dr. Tawakkol is currently Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgerons.

He is currently serving as chairman of the department of surgery at West Houston Medical Center, Houston Texas, and previously in 2002 at St. Luke Medical Center in Pasadena, California.

Dr. Tawakkol has been in practice since 1997 and in the Houston area since 2002.
